Memory games for adults - boost your memory with these free exercises
Playing memory games for adults can be both a fun and healthy way to improve your mental strength. It’s also the perfect opportunity to practice with memory techniques.
One of the relatively easy memory games for adults is Masterpieces. After you memorize the order of images for a specific time, you need to rebuild them in the right order in the next screen. This game trains both your short and long-term memory and is ideal to practice The Picture and Story method, The Roman Room technique, and The Journey System.
Train your brain with memory games for adults
This game is a great example of how memory games for adults can be fun, challenging and good for your brain. The different colours in the figure will light up one after the other and you are required to remember the order and press the squares in the same sequence. The game starts at an easy level, but will increase in difficulty the further you get in the game.
This game trains your short-term memory and is ideal to practice The Number / Shape Mnemonic. First, you make associations between objects and the positions one to ten, based on the shape of the number (for example, 1 = candle, 2 = swan, 3 = love heart). Then you make associations between the position in which the colour lights up (i.e. the object that represents the number) and the colours. So in this game you could get something like this: a blue candle, a red swan and a blue love heart. It is recommended to practice the position associations first, because the game is at a quick pace!
Memory games for adults are challenging, fun and good for your brain!
This is one of the most challenging brain games. The square will fill up with coloured balls, and it is up to you to group them in a line of five to score points. You can move the balls by clicking on them (the shape changes to ovals) and then move them to an empty square. You can only move a ball over empty squares, the game won’t let you drag a ball over other balls.
This game trains speed and spatial skills. Good luck!
Another game that trains your speed and spatial skills is the challenging Rotate2. Although the assignment is simple ‘Rotate the pipes so that all pipes are closed’, the game will get increasingly challenging as the pipe structures get more and more difficult. And in the background the time is ticking…
Counterfeit – find the differences in the picture
Remember this one? Two similar pictures will be presented and it is up to you to find the difference between them. Some are simple, while others are very challenging. This game trains short-term memory and your focus (and patience).
In this brain game you will be presented nine images. After you memorize the images, positions will be shuffled, and one picture will be replaced. It is up to you to find the picture that was replaced.
This game trains your long-term memory and is ideal to practice The Picture and Story method, The Roman Room technique, and The Journey System. For example, you can memorize the nine pictures by making a story around them. When you are presented the second time with the pictures, you can follow the story again and whatever picture is not a part of it, is the new image.
